    Due to our reputation and presentation we trust that we have sparked some interest in doing business with Atlas Tile & Stone.

Atlas Tile & Stone  provides free estimates for our current or potential customers. Please review the following points in order to make the estimation more exact. If you need additional guidance we will be happy to discuss available options and answer any questions or concerns in order to deliver and satisfy your expectations.

1. Stone selection. Although the exact material is not an immediate requirement, an idea of color and/or characteristics can be helpful in producing a more accurate estimate. The standard stone slab thicknesses are available in 1 1/4 inch and 3/4 inch or you may choose to laminate. If you would like to choose a specific natural stone, Atlas Tile & Stone has established a wonderful repor with stone warehouses in the Metro Detroit area. Please call us for locations and hours, they will be happy to assist you in selecting the exact stone you desire.

2. Design Layout. Fax, email or visit Atlas Tile & Stone with any layouts or drawings, with dimensions, in order to supply an accurate estimate. This also serves as a visual aid to discuss any details and or questions that you/we may have.

3. Edge Detail. There are many edge details that can be incorporated into your stone. For examples refer to the edge profile page on this site. Please keep in mind that Atlas Tile & Stone is not limited to these examples. As a custom stone fabricator we can create a variety of unique edges. Have an idea? Let us know.

4. Backsplash. Is there going to be a backsplash along with your tops? Although a standard splashes height is 4 inches, it can be cut to any desired height. Other options include full splash and tile splash.

5. Sinks. Will there be any sinks? Typically there are two sink styles, undermount or self-rimming. Self-rimming sinks are dropped in atop the stone and undermount sinks are mounted to the bottom of the stone and rimmed with polished stone following the contour of the sink.

6. Sink Hardware. Faucets, handles. sprayer, etc.. How many holes will need to be drilled in order to install all items.

7. Stove or Cook top. Is there a stove or cook top that will be included in the area of the stone. Cook tops are dropped in on top and surrounded by stone while stoves are slid into an opening between the stone.

8. Radius. Are there any radius on corners? If so, what size?

   ---

9. Additional Holes. Additional holes may include cut outs for electrical outlets, electronic cords and or wires.

10. Seam Location. If there is a preference of location? This option can be discussed but should be noted that Atlas Tile & Stone takes pride in minimizing visibility of seam locations.

11. Overhangs. On undermount sinks and tops themselves, is there an overhang you would like to have? Typically, sinks have a standard overhang of  ³/₄ of an inch and tops 1 ¹/₂ inches. Whether the stone is a ledge, sill, center island, or counter tops, overhangs can be made any size you desire.

12. Installation. Qualified members of our staff will take care of all the technical aspects of the installation. (Cabinets must be completely installed prior to stone installation.)
